Encouraging discussion and action against child abuse through art

Student Poster Art Contest

Each year, ICAN and ICAN Associates invite 4th, 5th and 6th grade children throughout LA County to express their concerns and insights around child abuse through the medium of art.

Focusing on the health and well-being of children, this public awareness campaign provides a comfortable forum for open discussions within classrooms, while emphasizing the importance of child abuse prevention. Since the contest began, over 20,000 students have participated – with their artwork displayed in hallways, professional journals and documents throughout America.

Featuring celebrity guest appearances

Student Poster Art Contest award ceremonies are excited to feature a range of celebrities supporting the cause. Previous year’s event was hosted by Jack Dylan Grazer (Shazam!), with appearances from LA County dignitaries and special guests Asher Angel (Shazam!), Justin Chambers (Grey’s Anatomy), Michaela Periera (Good Morning LA), Lindsay Wagner (The Bionic Woman). In 2021, student artwork was showcased alongside the world premiere of ‘Silver Lining’ written for ICAN by singer-songwriter, Annie Bosko and songwriter Billy Steinberg.
