“How can we best aid families recovering from a traumatic death or loss?”
With the support of the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services, the Department of Mental Health and Public Health, the Los Angeles County of Office of Education, ICAN/ICAN Associates, The Center for Grief and Loss for Children, a Program of Hathaway-Sycamores, The California Association for Child Life Professionals, and many other professionals, we were able to come together for a ninth year to talk about treating childhood grief and loss.
This year over 500 mental health professionals, grieving families, and community representatives learned how best to aid families recovering from a traumatic death or loss from local, national, and state experts. Eighteen workshops provided attendees with training to strengthen multi-disciplinary responses to grief and loss.
